Yoshiyuki Konishi, more commonly known as Yoshiyuki Konishi or Don Konishi is a Japanese designer born in 1950, raised by a family that owned a Kimono store and he was subsequently exposed to textiles at an early age when he would accompany his family to search for Kimono fabrics at trade shows. He established ‘Ficce Uomo Company and the Ficce Uomo menswear line in 1981, followed by the launch of the Yoshiyuki Konishi menswear line in 1987 and shortly after Ficce Denim menswear in 1988. Unlike the rest of his Japanese peers, the Don frequently incorporated lavish colors and cross-cultural references in his work, such as cartoon characters, eastern mythos, advertisement, and film
