Undercover was founded in 1993 by Jun Takahashi whilst he attended Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, alongside the famous Nigo. His clothing label is driven by the motto “We make noise, not clothes.” Takahashi translates the subversion and disruption of punk rock into fashion with his blend of bondage, gothic, baroque, and grotesque aesthetics embodying the spirit of rebellion in fashion

This exquisite piece is from Undercover’s Autumn/Winter 2001 collection “D.A.V.F” (Decorated Armed Voluntary Force), which had a baroquely militant skew, blending military accessories and shapes with lace and ruffle tops, balaclavas, and pearls.
