Undercover was founded in 1993 by Jun Takahashi whilst he attended Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, alongside the famous Nigo. His clothing label is driven by the motto “We make noise, not clothes.” The founder of Hysteric Glamour Nobuhiko Kitamura founded the brand in 1984, with the theme of his brand revolving around mass media, depicting musicians like Marc Bolan and the Sex Pistols, with the art work from Andy Warhol; they additionally get influences on their graphics from comics, pornography, automobiles, etc.
This iconic piece was a collaboration between the two brands released in 2006, having a heavy inspiration from Seditionaries as the graphic is inspired by the “Gay Cowboys” t shirt. Instead of the two men, this piece features two “Kishidans”, who are band members, yelling at each other as their conversation below them. The reference extends to the tag on the t shirt as well as its style mimics the Seditionaries tag. On the backside Kishidan is printed in the KISS typeface and a small tag on the left shoulder reads, “for phimosis gluesniffer glutton vestal + yanks”. The thin , feathered construction of the t shirt gives it the vintage sensation. In good condition with small stains in couple areas, but maintains good quality
