Number (N)ine was founded in 1997 by Takahiro Miyashita; the brand holds heavy influence from the American and music scene (grunge, rock, punk) as many of the pieces reflect the style. The Number (N)ine name itself is derived from "Revolution 9," the Beatles song off their seminal self-titled 1968 album

These incredible collaborative sneakers are from the Spring/Summer 2006 “Welcome To The Shadow” collection, which had a heavy inspiration from the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, Axl Rose, who was Takahiro Miyashita’s idol. Miyashita aimed to recreate the pieces incorporated in Rose’s best looks in his way, pulling inspiration from many of his stage outfits. These sneakers are based off of Axl Rose’s own converse weapon silhouette with Miyashita’s touch of adding the large “N(N)” embroidery on the tongue in place of Rose’s own custom insignia. I’m solid condition for its age, the inner red paint has melted due to being left in heat
