Tomoaki Nagao, more commonly known as Nigo, founded Bape or A Bathing Ape in 1993 after studying fashion in college alongside the founder of Undercover Jun Takahashi; he opened his first store “Nowhere” with him in Ura-Harajuku as his first store that sold a limited quantity of his first pieces. According to Nigo, the name “BAPE” is a reference to “A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water” - Japanese people typically have daily baths in water at lukewarm temperature
This iconic zip-up hoodie released in 2008 features the all-over bapesta design in a monochromatic color on a white base. Features the “A Bathing Ape Classics” tag on the inner neckline, as well as the Bape head tag at the end of the left sleeve. Bape branding embossed on the zipper. The hoodie can be zipped all the way up to the top of hood. In great condition for its age, with minor flaws (some slight yellowing at end of sleeve)
