Number (N)ine was founded in 1997 by Takahiro Miyashita; the brand holds heavy influence from the American and music scene (grunge, rock, punk) as many of the pieces reflect the style. The Number (N)ine name itself is derived from "Revolution 9," the Beatles song off their seminal self-titled 1968 album.

This iconic shorts is from the Spring/Summer 2000 collection “Extra Heavy”, where there were two parts/sides of the collection, where one side was just Number (N)ine pieces and the other side was a collaboration with the iconic Japanese fashion designer Nigo’s brand, “A Bathing Ape” or more commonly known as Bape. These beautiful shorts coming in a highlighter orange color-way feature two embroideries on the left front pocket of the mechanic Reggie’s name above the Number (N)ine emblem logo as these are thought to be his uniform shorts for work. The backside additionally features a “Number (N)ine Sunday Mechanic” embroidery below the waist. Constructed of fireproof Nomex material. In brilliant condition with no flaws or damages
