Vetements was founded by Georgian fashion designer Demna Gvasalia in 2014, who currently the creative director of Balenciaga. Vetements was founded because Demna Gvasalia and his anonymous colleagues found fashion, at the time, boring, and he wanted to base the brand off of a simplistic concept of bringing variety to the fashion scene and, as the name suggests, produce clothes.
