Born in Fukushima in 1961, Watanabe graduated from Bunka Fashion College, Tokyo in 1984 and immediately joined Comme des Garçons as a pattern cutter and underling of founder-owner of Comme des Garçons, Rei Kawakubo. Junya Watanabe is known for his innovative and technologically advanced designs that show an appreciation of avant-garde cutting

This lovely button up was released in the Spring/Summer 2017 collection as part of the Junya Watanabe MAN line. ‘Ptaki’ means ‘bird’ in Polish, and this unique graphic featured on the piece is from a movie poster designed by Polish artist Zelek, for the Polish release of the film Alfred Hichcocks’s The Birds (1963). Instead of depicting birds directly, Zelek opted for a winged skull to symbolize the mortal threat. In good condition with no major flaws or damages, except for slight yellowing on the bottom
