This sought after piece is from the Undercover Autumn/Winter 2003 “Paper Doll” collection; this collection reflected upon Takahashi’s interest in paper dress up dolls as different patterns, fabrics, and cuts are used throughout different pieces giving an overall DIY aesthetic to each piece. Not only did the collection derive inspiration from the suits and dresses typically worn by these dolls, but the runway invitations sent out to guests also came in the shape of said dolls
Beautiful piece embodying the reconstruction that Takahashi emphasized in this collection. “Hybrid” zip-up jackets with the backside of the piece made of grey vintage sweatshirts. Front side is constructed of wool with four cargo pockets (snap button closure). In decent condition with some staining on the sleeve, maintains great quality for its age
