Chrome Hearts was originally founded in 1988 by Richard Stark and leather manufacturer John Bowman in a Los Angeles garage. They started by crafting leather jackets until the third member Leonard Kamhout, who worked exclusively with sterling silver joined. By the early ‘90s, the fashion world started paying attention to Chrome Hearts, but Stark has never been interested in being pigeonholed as fashion brand despite its ties to the industry
Born 1962 Queens, New York, Joe Foti joined Chrome Hearts in 1990 at its inception to oversee the Art and Science Division. Foti By Chrome Hearts was born in 2002 during the first exhibition in Tokyo called “Fisting Scars”. They had about six unique characters & none of them were really for sale. Since then from those first few pieces it has grown into 12 unique characters with personalities all of their own. This specific character is named “Pepe”; Foti gives each character a backstory, he states that Pepe is really quiet/rarely speaks and has the ability to read minds. The Pepe pendant has incredible detailing as it has the face of an skull with a boy-scout like outfit, and it’s holding a sword in its right hand. A magnificent piece in almost brand new condition, fully polished and has no flaws or damages
